Subject Description: Woods interior, view of distant sky at center framed by trees with very heavy trunks and what appears to be a mound or large rock at right center.
Condition: Good. oil on canvas apparently unlined; glassine paper adhered to surface. 1969

Additional Examination Notes: The elements of style, technique and condition revealed in the present examination do not justify any final conclusion with regard to authenticity. It remains now to compare these findings with those derived from the examination of a maximum number of other examples, and secondly, to investigate as thoroughly as possible the painting's history of ownership.
