Subject Description: A view of the sea. The mass water is flat and unbroken. Above the horizon at center, the sun sets a pattern of drifting clouds.
Condition: See conservation report by R. D. Buck, February 1947. It was noted that the repaints have now lost their gloss (in depth and in file).
Infra-red: Nothing of significance.
UltraViolet: Reveals the extent of the repairs and retouches.
Color: The sun and its reflection on clouds and sea a brilliant yellow. The sky and water a steely gray-green.
X-ray: The under coat appears to match the design - water surface, sun and clouds.
