Subject DescriptionView across body of water, tall tree overhanging branches fill left hand side of painting. Low dark masses of foliage on distant bank, full moon in upper center. Signed, R.A. Blakelock within arrowhead, lower left.
ConditionPainting extremely dirty, evidence of some superficial cleaning and retouches around the moon and in the reflections in the water, also at the lower left.
Infra-redReveals the blurred and rather casual character of the painting in the foliage patterns.
