Subject Description: Horizon at bottom third of panel. This part of painting an undifferentiated dark band. The central third a band of lighted clouds with considerable texture, upper third a smoothly painted darker band.
Condition: On oak door panel, not cut down because paint goes over edge. Overall crackle probably due to a ground coat of varnish.
Infra-red: Clarifies character and thickness of paint.
UltraViolet: Nothing of significance.
Color: 
X-ray: Ground coat applied in two patterns, vertical and horizontal, the latter heavily through center of panel.
