Subject DescriptionThis version shows entire foreground and foliage areas in dark blue-black. A two wheeled cart shows faintly at lower right and a wall with a lighted window at center. The sky is dark blue at the top, grading to a lighter blue at the tree line. Points of light in the sky area suggest a starry night. The handling in this panel is the least specific, although the roofline and siding of the building are defined by heavier paint and incised lines. The reverse side indicates this panel was cut from a large piece of wood, possibly used as a palette. There is a partial signature, "R.A. Bla" visible at the upper center. This signature is interesting in that it is drawn in a notably fluid manner.
