Subject DescriptionHorizon line at center of canvas. Receding stream at left center of the picture, flanked on either side by tall trees. Lower foliage left and right.
ConditionCanvas mounted on, but detached from plywood. Very badly deteriorated, irregular crackle over entire surface. Considerable cupping of paint. Areas of paint lost at outer edges on all four sides.
Infra-redSharpens areas of loss and signature lower right.
UltraVioletClarifies the advanced stage of the crackling in the painted surface.
ColorThe picture has a noticeably intense color scheme, dominated by a bright yellow-green contrasted with reddish-brown tone in foreground, also noticeable the bright blue-green of the foreground stream.
